Awesome Places in West Sikkim

YUKSOM
Yuksom was the first capital of Sikkim. As per the historical records, consecration of the first Chogyal of the kingdom of Sikkim was performed here by three learned Lamas in 1641 A D. Since the history of the state began from this place, these areas are considered sacred by the people of Sikkim because of this historical significance. Yuksom is connected with Pemayangtse, 32 kms from here, by all weather roads. Accommodation, suitable for all pockets, is available in Yuksum.
Soreng
This is a picturesque village of Sikkim, surrounded by lush green hills, is located at a distance of four hour drive from Pelling. Situated amidst scenic splendour Soreng is full of a wide variety of flowers and birds. Soreng is also a gateway to the Varsey Rhododendron Sanctuary. This sanctuary has the Singalila National Park in the south and Kanchendzonga Biosphere Reserve in the north. It is located at an altitude of 10,000 ft and stretches on 104 sq km. The sanctuary is very rich in bio-diversity. Rhododendron is the main attraction here which blooms in April-May.
VARSEY
Lying at an elevation of 10,000 ft, it is another gateway to the Varsey rhododendron sanctuary. Motorable roads are available up to Hilley and from there one can reach to the sanctuary by an easy 4 Kms trek.Get tour package to Sikkim in lowest price.
